Rev. William Eli Sunu is a Bible teacher and communicator. He has a passion to bring the unsaved to salvation in Jesus Christ and challenge believers to live a deeper, meaningful Christian life.

William was called to Christian ministry in 1992 and enrolled at the Centre for International Christian Ministry (C.I.C.M.) in September of the following year.
Graduating with a diploma in Pastoral ministry in 1994, William served as an associate Pastor in two independent churches. He married Agnes in 1997 and they planted their first church in Bermondsey, South East London, in 1998. After four years of leading the church, William, Agnes and their two young children relocated to Basildon, Essex in 2002 and founded Joy Christian Centre in January 2004, with 10 adults and 3 children in attendance.

JOY Nation Choir is a body of committed Christians who worship the Lord by performing a wide variety of songs from Traditional Hymns to more contemporary gospel songs. Joy Nation has performed at many events such as Basildon Praise in the Park and Joy Christian Centre’s annual International Day celebration.
Joy Christian Centre’s Youth department is a group of 11-25-year olds. Our focus is to provide a place where the young adults of JCC deepen their relationship with Christ and grow in the community with another.
OUR CHILDREN ARE THE FUTURE.
We have talented Sunday School teachers who help encourage and teach the young one about the word of God and who God is. Children within this department are very talented and often showcase some of this talent to the congregation on Sundays.
The JCC Men ministry currently holds regular events geared towards challenging, encouraging men as well as inspiring the younger males within the church.
Women fellowship at Joy Christian Centre is currently headed by Pastor Agnes Sunu and a team that fast and pray with the purpose to seek God’s direction for the ministry. We have a number of initatives at JCC to provide support and encouragement to ladies of all ages by offering Saturday morning breakfast meetings.
Ushers are 1st and most important contact with the church. This ministry provides assistance, from welcoming guests and members to church to helping parents with their child/children.
This kind cannot be driven out by anything but prayers..." - Mark 9:29
We believe what the Bible says about prayer.
JCC prayer warriors meet every morning and intercede on behalf of the church and the world and together we have victory.
