“You give them something to eat.” — Matthew 14:16 What do you do when the need in front of you seems greater than the resources in your hands? In this powerful sermon, You Give Them Something to Eat, we explore Jesus’ miraculous feeding of the multitude and the important lessons it teaches us about faith, compassion, obedience, provision, and allowing God to use what we already have. Drawing from Matthew 14:14–21, 2 Kings 4:42–44, Matthew 5:17–18, Matthew 15:32–38, and Mark 6:34, this message reveals a recurring biblical truth: God sees the need, He is moved with compassion, and He is able to multiply what is surrendered to Him. When the disciples saw thousands of hungry people, they saw an impossible problem. Jesus saw an opportunity to demonstrate the power and provision of God—and He invited His disciples to participate: “You give them something to eat.” 📖 Key Themes in This Message: ✅ Jesus is moved with compassion by the needs of people (Matthew 14:14; Mark 6:34) ✅ “You give them something to eat”—recognising our responsibility to respond to the needs around us ✅ Trusting God when what we have seems insufficient ✅ The miracle of multiplication when our resources are surrendered to God (Matthew 14:14–21) ✅ God is able to provide more than enough (2 Kings 4:42–44) ✅ Seeing the consistency and fulfilment of God’s Word (Matthew 5:17–18) ✅ Jesus’ compassion and provision in feeding the multitude (Matthew 15:32–38) ✅ Moving from simply seeing a need to becoming part of God’s answer God does not always begin with what we wish we had. Often, He begins with what is already in our hands. Your time, gifts, resources, experience, influence, and willingness may seem small compared with the need before you—but when surrendered to God, He can use them for purposes far greater than you imagined. Life or death—what will you choose? When what you see seems to contradict what God has spoken, will you respond with fear or stand firmly on His Word? In this powerful sermon, Life or Death? What Will You Choose?, we explore the importance of believing God's promises, speaking in agreement with His Word, and choosing faith even when circumstances appear impossible. Drawing from Isaiah 55:11, Numbers 23:19, Jeremiah 1:12, Numbers 13:1–2, Numbers 13:25, and Hebrews 11:1, this message reminds us that God's Word never returns empty. He does not lie, He watches over His Word to fulfil it, and faith gives us confidence in what we hope for—even before we can see it. The Israelites were given a promise, but what they encountered in the Promised Land tested whether they would trust what God had said or what their eyes could see.
